can someone tell me if shell rotella 15w-40 is a good idea to run in a 1996 powerstroke. thank you

 

No reason why not to. It will be the new CJ-4 rated oil, but that will work fine in any truck.

 

Rotella is good but there is better. For what its worth I run Amsoil in my 06 and Rotella in my 89.

 

I run rotella in mine, ams in my dads, I just can't afford the stuff. The synthetic made a HUGE difference in his 01 PSD cold weather0 starts. HUGE. If you get a good deal on it, you can break even if you change the filter every 4k miles and run the oil for 15k or more. I've talked to an amsoil rep about it, and if you get the oil analysis done to make sure everything is working as it should, you can run over 25k on the ams. Personally I've never done it, just change it every 12-15k.

Rotella is most peoples non-synthetic first choice, Delo comes in at a close 2nd. Both are really good oils.

I run rotella, that's what I was reccamonded by bennet auto supply.

 

i run rotella in 91 and 08. i have been thinking about using royal purple in 08 since we sell it.

 

I use the Shell Rotella as well. Good product.

 

You can sell amsoil if you want to
