what about rotella
thanks folks, i was just wondering what people are running. I would like to run amsoil, but no stores sell them here in south texas. The cold weather start is not a problem for me i just need oil that protects against heat. the other day the heat index was 111 degrees! but thanks guys.

i know amsoil is good oil. my techs say royal purple is too. lots of guys think these two are to high but if you can go longer before you change it will be cheaper. nothing wrong with rotella if you change it though.
I've heard royal purple will leave a lot of sludge in a diesel...? I have seen pics of a far from stock 06 Dmax that ran on it with what looks to be like a ton of sludge in the pan. We haven't heard back from the builder yet if thats what it is.
Their advertising campaign. The lemmings spout it off as if they did the testing themselves.

Amsoil...
I made the switch last fall after resisting for a long time. I used to run a 0W40 in the winter and 15W40 in the summer. Went with Amsoil HD Marine 15W40. For me, it makes a lot more sense to just change oil once a year.

All the oil analysis I have sent in and read the results myself have said that it is worth the money.
