Cards New York exhuast laws?

Does anybody know the laws for an exhaust system in new york? I see people with straight piped stacks and stuff but isnt that illegal?

there is no emissions laws in NY for diesels unless you have a truck manufactured in 08. then I think there is some sort of emissions. But there is federal law

That seems very not new york ish, I do get emissions tested every year so idk what i can do to my exhaust.

they dont hook my trucks exhaust to anything. But federal law states that you cant remove any emission equipment on vehicles or something basically the simular

As all other vehicles, removal of factory emissions componants is illegal. But there are no emmisions on diesel vehicles in NY, the exhaust must exit behind the passenger compartment of the vehicle, and a turbo is considered a muffling device. Just dont be trying to be the loudest vehicle on the block, or your going to get a big fat ol ticket for too loud.

here in Delaware we're supposed to have mufflers but most of the time they dont check

well, for diesels, or any turbo'd vehicle, the trbo acts as the muffler, so technically you have the muffler on their...
