Default GSK spring kit question

I was wondering if installing a 3 or 4k gsk kit without a cam plate would cause issues for my currently unmoded 97' 47re.

I have ran both the 3k and the 4k with the stock plate ... all your gonna see is more low end fueling, with the stock plate FF my truck will throw you back on the low end but north of 3k it levels out due to the profile of the stock plate. if you plan on keeping the truck the way it is for a while I would go with the 3ks and if you want more later after you upgrade the plate the converison kit is only $15 to get 4000 rpm.

GSK 2 Inner Springs converts 3k gsk to a 4k gsk

here its just the baby spring that goes in the middle to make the 3k kit fuel to 4k

You could also just buy the 4k kit and leave the middle spring out.

I have had good luck with putting shims in, For the people that don't want to spend the money on a GSK but I have a 4000gsk in my truck and love it. I have found that the shims at .085 will give full fuel to about 33-3600ish. Some use washers but I have shims made so I know each are the same thickness, washers I think very to much in thickness. Just thought I would share that with ya.
