Default Question

Does anybody know if the later model trannies from something like a 24 valve cummins would be compatible with a first gen 12 valve , i need overdrive in a bad way and would rather run a better tranny than a 518, just i dont know if the newer trannies are electronicly controlled or hydrolicly or if it would even bolt up, i thank anyone that can help me out

The one that you want is a 47RH out of a '94 or '95.

It's an A-518 with lock-up, and overdrive and lock-up are both controlled with two wires.

Only have to change flexplate, bellhousing, starter, converter, crossmember, driveshafts and probably some other things along with it.

Do you have a 366 spring?

Like Begle said, the 47RH is the tranny you want. From '94 and '95 Cummins trucks.

i haven't done the sring yet but i'm planning on it i haven't got around to ordering it yet, it still pulls hard at top speed, around 85mhp it will still push around 40psi but i need to stud and o-ring the head due to the fact that it is hard to keep it under 45psi when messing around last thing i want to do is blow the gasket
