Removal of stock exhaust
replacing the exhuast from turbo back this weekend and looking for a little advice.
Has anyone been able to remove the stock system without cutting it?
Any things I should watch out for?
Thanks,

Hmm... The knuckleheads at the muffler shop i went to cut the downpipe in half... But I bet there is a better way. Also if its a dual exhaust it wont work with most gooseneck hitches without some adjustments. Goodluck on unleashing the beast!
Thank you. I went with the Expandit 5" single exhaust. I was worried about cutting the downpipe. I think I remember reading that if you remove the cross member you can get it out without cutting but I can not seem to find that thread anymore.
for my 5 inch single like you said i just took out the cross piece that supports the tranny and everything dropped right out with no problem just use a jack to help support the tranny while your doing it.
Just be carefull with that dang muffler LOL, mine slipped outa my hand while getting it outa the rubber mounts, and it fell on top of my left thumb (that inlet is sharp).
I was just wanting to see how it sounded without a muffler, and end up in ER to get 10 stitches and then a trip to hand surgeon last Tuesday to get tendon reattached (very expensive without insurance
).....Now I can't play doctor on the truck for 6-8 weeks till the cast comes off
I have too many parts I'm waiting to put on........
