We've got an 86 Jetta 4-door 1.6L/5-speed. Been sitting a few month, needs an injection pump.

My uncle has 8 N/A diesels. Rabbit pickups to Fox's Jetta's and golfs.

my uncle had a diesel rabbit in college and he beat the crap out of it. before he had a truck that was his woods vehicle he took hunting because it was the only car that would take all the big bumps on the ground and not break. i know he also used to do a lot of top speed runs in it because he worked at a small municipal airport and when it wasnt busy he would go do it. this was of course in the 80's way before 9/11 or strict regulations. ive always kinda wanted one because they seem like they are tough little engines

 

They are tough! Our 86 is rusted to hell, we see ground when we drive. But it has 250xxx miles and keeps going, my uncle just junked a golf with over 500xxxmiles on it, never taken apart or rebuilt.
