well right now im in CA but im moving back to WI basically i wanna keep clear of getting into it with the law about it cause imna be applying to be a cop (ill be one of the few good ones) i heard that you can get in alot of **** for not having it if caught

in california yeah because well they suck to be honest...alot of guys run without them i dont have one and once you get to WI then you should be fine...now you are talking about a catalytic converter and not the new DPF's on the new trucks right...since your truck is an 04 then you should be fine

take the cat off...gut it...find a local welding shop...get them to weld you in a piece of four if five inch exhaust on the inside of it...that way...it works just like a straight pipe...but you have straight piped goodness...

Take it off you have nothing to worry about in CA maybe save it just in case.

what im prolly just gonna do is just get an old one and gut it and weld pipe in it and keep my working one for future emisions , but thanx guys for all the input much appreciated!!

when you remove your "cat" you should see that is is a straight thru design. why pipe it? Only reason I want to get rid of mine (TX) is for larger exhaust. And here in TX I supposedly wont pass insp without the "cat".
