Default power and problems

Hey

Just sitting here and wondering? I would like to go with Spartan performance. They claim 275 on one of their tunes.

The question I have can the 6.4 automatic transmission handle that? They claim no problem to the vehicle.

IS the life of the truck shortened that much? Or did ford build a bad *** truck with a lot of hidden potentinal

my guess would be that if your running it on that tune beating the tar out of it no the tranny aint gonna handle it...its not gonna shorten the life of your truck any less...the tranny probably most of the trans builders say the stock trans in any of the big three are good for about50-75 hp over stock so that is where you have to decide...

In a nutshell, NO you're stock transmission won't handle it...at least not for very long. If you have even a slightly heavy foot, and you run that healthy a tune, it's only a matter of time before it's going to give up.
I would stick with something in the neighborhood of 100-120hp tunes max, until you are built for it.

Thanks for the info, I was thinking that myself but not sure!

Ok, next question along the same lines, what would one have to do to improve the transmission to handle that type of power?

The SPARTAN TUNER will adjust your tranny for the extra power I've been told, talk to MATT at SPARTAN he will tell you how the tuner works with the tranny
