Default 97' PSD - 97' 460 swap. HELP!!!

I've got a beautiful 97' super crew short bed F250. It runs great but she's a very thirsty girl but I own her. Ive been thinking of doing a cummins swap, then this morning I come across a 97' PSD reg cab f250 5sdp and talk the guy down to $500 so he can bail his bro out of county. It has a miss in 2 injectors on the same bank. He had gatherd info and was about to replace the inj wiring harness which he says is grounding on the over tightened valve covers. I'm buying it regaurdless but a swap is what I have in mind. since they are the same body style I assume it should be plug and play. Obviously nothing is that easy but I've a lot of mechanical exp. just not w/a PSD. Any help or ideas. If the inj are good I'll do the swap as is other than decapitating the down pipe while the engine is out. If the inj are bad it would be a good time to swap them as well. This is going to be on the cheap so any help on good inj. I'd like to get around 400hp and 650tq when done. I know this isn't far from what you guys make w/these so it should be easy?

someone just posted a thread asking about how to make 400 horse on around the same year and there were a lot of good suggestions. I can't find it but someone else might be able to.

If you have patience and are an experienced mechanic rosewood diesel sells a do it yourself kit there are a couple of different stages but Im pretty sure you can pick up a kit for about $400. You should still have your injectors flow tested so you are aware of any extensive injector damage that may have occured.
