Default Amount of 2 stroke per tank?

I have been doing some reading about this and still not sure what is what. I have an 07 5.9l and was wanting to try some 2 stroke oil with my fuel. My question is how much 2 stroke oil should I put in? Thanks for any advice.

1oz per gallon maybe a little less. But your truck was built for this fuel

1:200 ratio is the commonly accepted ratio all across the board; i.e. for any diesel engine. They're even running 1:200 in new Mercedes diesel cars over in Europe.

What do mean it was built for this fuel? Would you not run anything for an additive? Thanks for your help.

He means the '07 and newer were designed to run on Ulsd. I personally use an additive. Mostly Power service

A really good additive that i find works very very well is Howes. My dad drives big truck and i work as a diesel mechanic and the majority of the drivers run Howes. And now its designed for ULSD. Its also 25% stronger now then the previous year, made to mix with ULSD. Try it, you might like it, i do!!

if you still have your smog etc on there then it has a chance of causing issues thats all. but if you don't it should work fine.

I use one quart per fillup, I tend to go about 6 tanks, then skip one so as not to continue creeping up on the concentration level in the tank. to that I also ad 1/2 bottle ps white bottle winter, grey summer.

I have the 5.9 not the 6.7 so I don't have all the smog crap to deal with. Thanks for the input guys I think I shoud be good to run a qaurt for a full tank. Where can you find the Howes? I have never seen this stuff.

They sell Howes about anyplace that sells diesel fuel and any farm store or hardware store. I'll also second the recommendation for it.

My personal experience with 2 stroke oil, and I know it's not the common thing to happen but it did to me. This stuff was the best penetrating oil I ever found. I jumped on the bandwagon usin it way back when when all this came out. Took me a few years to get my fuel line connections to stay tight after I quite usin it. Since then I've started usin it for penetrating oil around the barn and it does work well.
