Amount of 2 stroke per tank?
I know I was the exception here, just don't know why. My original discovery of this fact left me stranded along side the highway right there by Lake Tahoe on below 0 degrees rainy and snowy night. The fitting on the LP back out and all the fuel it was pulling was sprayin out on the ground. That was not a fun night by the time a wrecker got there and we finally found a hotel room in town in the middle of ski season for an astronomical price.
I never measure anything precise, I'm just a dumper but I know the mix was no where near as much as the 1 ounce per gallon. That was two much money, that oil ain't cheap.

A word to the wise: Any Flying J truckstop across North America will carry Howes, and knowing that will save your *** when you're in a bind on a long road trip at this time of year. (Maybe, just maybe, I learned the hard way
)
And yeah, I highly recommend it. The concentration they recommend to use on the bottle may be a little stronger than necessary, so you can get away with using a little less than what they recommend. Just do NOT over-concentrate it; despite what they say about over-use not being harmful, it's not true. Your truck will idle and run roughly, and too high a concentration is not good for the injectors.

I haven't tried out their stuff yet, but I did buy a bottle of the Performance formula and one of the Lubricity formula. Can't wait to try them out in warmer spring weather. I'm too paranoid to switch right now from Howes in this cold weather. Been stranded too many times! But I've heard good things about Stanadyne...Anywhoo, I'm getting off topic
Well I'm one of the 2 cycle oil gurus...
I've been running 128:1 ratio for over 4 years now and my injection pump is going to cross the 100K mark here really soon. I'm pulling an average of about 20-22 MPG in the summer time and no ill effect to the fuel system.
But typically I wouldn't suggest a 2007 or newer truck to use 2 cycle oil.
But here is something to think about... Bosch's fuel testing...

Then DieselPlace.com Fuel Test...

Ive been using 2 stroke for about a year or so, no problems, i got the 38 gal tank, I tend to run close to empty when on the road, then add about a qt at fillups. I'm confident that I got a couple extra mpg's using it. I've been getting it at wallyworld, it did go from $8.50 to $10.50 a gal there, so haven't done the math to see where the breakeven point is on cost. plan is to start getting it in bulk later this summer, I got the snows stage III kit to put on, and want to get my washer fluid, engine oil and the 2 stroke oil in 55 gal drums then, it'll get way cheaper that way.
I only have 82k on a 99, but no noticeable smoke or any other downside to using it. one thing I did was reuse a few old 1 qt gear oil bottles, alot easier to add a known amount each time, and don't need to carry a funnel anymore
