Injector and DV advice needed
Hello, new over here from cumminsforum and thought I'd ask for a little advice, bear with me, I'm still learning about my truck:
I've been slowly modding my truck since June 06 with basic upgrades in my sig and am now close to making the leap of HP gain since I'll be adding a new goerends auto tranny soon. My goal is 350-400 HP... maybe up to 450 max after a year or so. I'll be bumping the timing to 15.5-16*, swapping the #6 plate for a #10 plate but I need advice on injectors and DV's.
Questions: Do I need both or what would be the advantage of one over the other if just one is needed? Which injectors and DV's would be recommended? Will my hx35w turbo be able to keep egt's cool if I top out at 450HP max?
About my driving style - This is a daily driver and I tow a little but usually not more than 5-6K and am relatively light on the foot except for the highway when getting on and passing.
Thanks for the help!

Injectors would be good. However, I would stay away from DVs.
You don't need them at that HP level.
Also your stock turbo is not adequate to cool the truck at 400HP much less 450.
It will make the number, but will not run cool.
If you pull the plate back a bit you could run a 370 injector. But, I would recomend you look towards a different turbo.

+1 on a different turbo..... DV's alone will be harder on the pump than injectors by themselves..... i did them both at the same time cause i had them and i had to take the injector lines off for injectors so i decided to go ahead and install the 191's.... i have 370's and 191's and a 64/14 HTT turbo.... @ 50psi it'll hit 1400 maybe @40psi it'll peg 1600+ this is with a 100plate..... you don't want to even attempt it without a plate.... it'll blackout a 4 lane road for atleast 20-30 seconds...... and hit 1600 before it gets out of second...... ask me how i know....

with stock timing, stock DV's, stock injectors, goerend built to the hilt tranny, no fuel plate, 4" exhaust, stock turbo and manifold, K&N FIPK, @42psi i made 250/625 and i thought it was fast.... it would also peg out a pyro before i got halfway through 3rd..... i upgraded to the HTT 71 series 64/14 and quick spool manifold, new downpipe, 370's 191's, reinstalled 100 plate, and did some very quick tuning (still @ stock timing, stock headgasket) and i made 358/727..... i know there is way more in it as i won't be happy till i get atleast 400/800 out of the current setup without nitrous and 500/1000 w/nitrous..... i want 400/800 before i remove the head for some extensive work (by Phil Palmer of Stuckey Racing.... who has already been 9.90's in the 1/4 and was last year's prostreet champ) and he said what he will do to the head will "wake it up significantly" so we will wait and see..... i won't be happy till i downgrade my 64/14 for a 62/12 and put a huge snail on the bottom..... a local guy has a 95 2500, "freshened motor" with a Phil head and a HX40 up top and i can't rember what on the bottom.... 191's and 370's and he put down 508/1500..... 1500 was the dyno's max at that time.... now it is 2000 so i'm waiting to see what it really has in it......
