Of the 3 People I know that owned a 6.4 2 of them blew engines in 20K. The one blew another engine around 65K.
All 3 engine had a Rod go threw the block and all were 100% stock.

^^^^ Likely a fuel injector issue. Have seen a few of 'em pin injectors open and melt stuff down.

I've replaced 2 engines since the 6.4's release.

as with any engine/mass produced item, engines fail just like anything out there, powerstrokes seem to have it happen more frequently, but there's alot of them out there so there's likely to be more failures

^^^ This is also a good point.

The first engine I changed had about 8000mi on it, and the second one had about 5-6000mi on it, but WELL over 5500 hours. 1 hr = approx 35mi in warranty's eyes, so that motor had 187,000MI of idle time on it

"Unfortunately, this engine is no longer eligible for Ford Motor Company's DIESEL ENGINE WARRANTY. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause."
