^^^ This is also a good point.
The first engine I changed had about 8000mi on it, and the second one had about 5-6000mi on it, but WELL over 5500 hours. 1 hr = approx 35mi in warranty's eyes, so that motor had 187,000MI of idle time on it
"Unfortunately, this engine is no longer eligible for Ford Motor Company's DIESEL ENGINE WARRANTY. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause."

yeah but you try to tell a customer that there over warranty with only 55 000 kms.....
ford doesnt sell hours of warranty belive me i tried this with a few of our fleet customers...

but this truck gets started in july and doesnt shut off till may in the north west territories.....

the engine hour meter is now only an engine idle hour meter......
what is ford thinking....
customer a comes in with there engine out of there truck pull the hours well it only has 250 hours on it and the kms are just over 7000 so guess what time for a service.....
but in fords eyes now
250 engine idles hours is equivalent to 13250kms + the 7000 kms for 20 250 kms on this engines oil.....
not to mention whats going to happen 30-40-50 000 kms down the road how are you supposed to calculate your oil change intervals
it should not be rocket science............
