personally i wouldn't go with a super max, seems like they like to blow up on dmaxes

thanks for the hint on the bd!cheetah is same price as aurora so if it eliminates the variable vane bs and the 90 degree turn the air has to make then wouldnt an aurora be the way to go?oh and now i'm thinkin the aurora 4000 is the way to go not the 3000

a4k is a nice turbo. some people say that going bigger with a turbo the also like to go simpler and get rid of the vvt.

but the sound of the cheetah is what gets most people

Cheetas are a bad turbo, my wallet allowed I would drive over and have Brayden put one on for me.

sooo one vote for the a4k and ditching the variable vanes, and one vote for cheetah 70mm?any driveability differences or mannerisms that may help me decide?

If and when I replace my stock Turbo... IT WIL NOT BE A VGT.. My truck is in the shop right now, Vane Position Solenoid and sensor messed up.. Its kinda hard to mess up a wastegate though. EFI live and a good old fashioned wastegated turbo is the way to go..

uhhh Aurora turbos arent wastegated.

I too like the cheetahs. yes they still have VVT but they are a proven turbo.

The A4k is a good choice but personally I like the Garret GT4094R as a small upgrade.

If you want to go BIG the 4202 is the way to go. The A5K is OK but I think the 4202 has an edge on it.

Aurora turbos are modified turbos. Garret turbos are obviously built from scratch.

The A5K is a spin off of the K31.

Cheetah turbos seem to be a great upgrade and they will require the least amount of changes for the power they can deilver. The larger turbos with T4 flanges will require a pedestal, downpipe, and potentially inlet ducting changes. Then you will need to tweak the tuning and handle any CEL codes that come up.

to get the best performance out of a cheetah with the vvt you gotta use efi live to tune it
