6.5 Fuel Pump Injector Repl. Questions
I am helping my son in law do some work on his 94 GMC w/ a 6.5 engine.
He bought a rebuilt inject. pump and injectors which we have replaced. They also sent some "fuel return" lines . These have the braided cloth exterior .
My questions are:
a. Is there supposed to be a gasket between the turbo and the exhaust manifold? There was not one and it did not appear to be leaking.
b. On the rubber fuel return lines that leap frog from injector to injector, the supplier said that with this line the spring clamps were not necessary because the pressure was low on these hoses. Is this correct?
Any other pointers on this install appreciated. First diesel I have ever worked on here, so you help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Robert

6.5 injector pump
Bill.
Thanks for your reply concerning the gasket and the hoses. My lack of experience with diesel engines cause me to second guess everything
My concerns with the hoses are that they could leak or blow off (FIRE HAZARD!!!) and it would be a bear to remove the turbo "again" and fix the ones on the passenger side. Same for the exhaust gasket.
Thanks again for helping to calm my fears!
