I ordered a stainless one on ebay the other day. i am looking forward to stopping the soot from getting into my intake. I hope it loweres engine temp a ways.

heard those things help in a couple areas. if i'm not mistaken u should notice a little faster spool up now as u'll have more exhaust gasses to spin the turbo. i think they might even lower yr egt a lil bit too.

I hope it does all of that . All that soot can't be a good thing...i would think the engine oil should stay cleaner aswell.

Mine has been blocked since about 1500 miles did not notice any difference in the spool up and as far as egts, I didn't have my gages on before I blocked the egr off. Sea04dmax, are putting the finger stick in also? The main reason I did it is to keep all the soot out of my motor. I put the finger stick on to get rid of my cat and straight pipe my exhaust.

I don't have a finger stick and i have 4 inch exhaust, i bought it that way and it has no kitty. I thought the Finger was needed but i guess not on all trucks.

The fengerStick is only needed for emmisions vehicals. THey are mostly in CA. I too saw no difference in egts or spool up. It shouldnt lower any temps. A soot cathcer is about all its good for. Have fun putting it in. It will go in easy or will be a pita.

I installed the EGR Blocker plate and it was a piece of cake, took like 5 minutes. I changed the engine oil too so we shall see if it stays clean longer. By the way no codes have been thrown yet.

With the LLY's its a hit and miss whether you need the Finger Stick or not. Just have try it and see because there have been federal and CA trucks that have set codes. Mine is a federal emissions truck and it set the code. If you straight pipe and/or remove the cat your pretty much guaranteed to need the Stick. Contrary to popular belief it wont improve spooling, mileage, egt's, or temps. It DOES keep your engine and oil clean. I took my intake apart at 5K and was shocked at what I saw. I have also by-passed the PCV system because its even worse. I blew an intercooler boot and saw oil dripping out. The PCV system pumps oil into the turbo intake and sends it right through the intercooler. Not good for the turbo or the intercooler.

You are one of the few lucky ones. Most are going to have major problems trying to get the nuts broke loose. I almost started to put heat on mine.

I would wager that you do have codes, just not lighting the CEL. Either way, I doubt that it hurts performance.
