Default 2010 Ford F150 Diesel

Ford has confirmed they fully intend to have a diesel engine in the F-150 for the 2010 model year. They didn't say any more other than they want to be the first of the "big 3" to put a diesel in the light duty pickup. They didn't give us any indication as to what we'll see but there has been plenty of speculation.
Ford also mentioned that for 2010 we'll see the use of EcoBoost engines - that is Gasoline Turbo Direct Injection. We predict you'll see a V6 turbo under the hood in 2010!
In late 2007, AutoWeek reported that Ford will allegedly be putting a supercharged 4.4L diesel V8 engine in the F-150 for 2009. Expect it to have around 330 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque! GM & Dodge are also planning on putting diesel engines in 1/2 ton trucks, but Ford is expected to be the first to actually produce such a truck. The 4.4-liter engine is a larger version of the 3.6-liter turbocharged V-8 used in European market Land Rover Range Rovers.

The Ford Ranger crowd back in the 1980's had the option of ordering a factory-installed diesel engine. Super Duty owners have had the diesel option since the redesign in 1999. But the F-150 crowd has been without the option of a diesel engine forever!

I think as time goes on diesel trucks will dominate but act more like gassers than diesels with all the new emissions junk.

if people start modify these things wont the supercharger be kinda a drag since it wouldn't be able to keep up with the fuel and boost

I'd love to be a ford mechanic when that comes out.
