Default 85 GMC Jimmy 6.2. Glow plugs work. Won’t turn over

85 GMC Jimmy 6.2. Glow plugs light up. I started the truck this morning. It idled for 15 minutes. I decided to drive it but turned it off so that I could move my other vehicle in to that parking spot. When I tried to start it back up the thing was DEAD, except the glow plug controller lights up on the dash.

I recently changed batteries and when I did, somehow a small ground wire from the neg to the firewall got pinched under the positive terminal on the passenger side. This drained the batteries. When I tried to crank it several weeks later, I found the ground because of the smoke burning that wire. LOL. Batteries were too dead to crank the engine. I charged both batteries to 100% and cranked the behicle this morning. It did its usual sputter for moment after not being cranked for a month or more but settled in fine. Then I pulled it forward a few feet, turned off the engine, and could never get it to turn over again. I got the vehicle pushed to the curb and went to work.

Does that sound like a starter issue? I turn the key. Glow plugs light up. Power to radio, etc. When I turn the key the rest of the way to crank - crickets.

Just wondering what else I should check after the starter.
