Hey guys!
I need a lil help my 01 2500 today I discovered my passenger floor board carpet soaking wet near the door where that plastic piece is. I pulled the whole thing apart and from what I can find it trails up to under the glove box where it looks like a condensate trap and it runs through the fire wall and a short piece of hose or plastic drains it down to the ground on the engine side. Has anyone had this happen before? Is there a seal that I can replace around that piece? It seems to be draining around it and running back inside and down to the floorboard area. Is it possible to silicone it and maybe add an extension piece and hose clamp so it drains out lower on the engine side? Any ideas I’ll can get I need I live in south Florida where it’s now 100 degree summers and no ac to keep the rust away isn’t my most favorite option!!!!

 

I just went through that exact thing 2 wks ago. I found that the external drain hose was partially clogged with what appeared to be some kind of insect that made its home in there. Discovered after I carefully stuck a piece of wire (fashioned a small hook at the end) inside the drain hose, and pulled out insect parts and what looked like mud. Try cleaning/ clearing out that hose. Cant hurt...….

I found that the rubber grommet that goes into the fire wall was dried and cracked and the end pipe was so short it didn't drip out right and ran down the firewall and into the cab where the grommet was deteriorating. I tried to use the wire like you mentioned but it didn't work nothing came out and it still leaked for a few days. I took some 5200 (a marine sealant) and spread it around where the grommet was, cut a 12" piece of garden hose and used a 12mm spring clip to hold it in place around the short plastic tube. It worked great and now drains low enough even highway driving can't let the condensate water run into the cab. Now to shampoo the carpet and get the water stain ring out and hopefully it last as long as I have the truck. Thanks for the advice
