I swear my 1st diesel found me!
Hi everyone, Wanted to share this with u and i swear on my wife and kids its all true. So have ever needed something to inspire you to be better then you think you can be? I certainly did. I was laid up broken from a head on collision, no work , work comp fighting me for every penny, i HAD ABOUT LOST HOPE, for real. All i had was my wife, kids( all amazing)and my computer. As always i daydreamed of the truck i wanted and spent endless hours looking, even knowing i had no chance of getting what i wanted. Still i always looked, had alerts to see whats up, it was all i had to hang on to. About 8 weeks into a 30 week recovery , I decided to search a area i never went to, Oklahoma,
.. I typed in what i was looking for and no listings, Damn. then i tried looking in a different header. also never tried before. Bam! There it was A 2000 250 7.3 SD. 2500 bucks. I was blown away on the price. I soon found out why. Harness fire. The owner had begun to try to restore it for his son. Soon found out it was a immense amount of work. Was selling as is, Had all the parts, mostly, and had it listed for 30 days, lots of lookers but no takers. I not sure what took over me that day, but i just had to have it. It needed fixing, like me. So i sent the owner, who now is a good friend, a message asking him to work with me, on a paper thin chance id come threw. That was the last day I sat on my computer. I spent the next 3 months fighting my way back, constant messages with him, patience running thin for both of us and finally last week, i made the last payment. 2 months of recovery taken off , got a job, on crutches, and landed a great new deal soon after. I got the truck after 1600 in payments and began the process on fixing him up.That was 3 months ago. FYI, Him is Hoss, Big Hoss. It just fit. So that brings me here. I have never owned a diesel, and have done 100% of the work on my own. Today was huge day as i am down to 2 harness connections and have the steering hookups to finish ( ok and a few other things) and im ready to fire Hoss up. So i realized this is pretty important, and pulled my computer out to reach out for the final turn on corner 4 of this journey. Both of us bout healed up. and I swear Hoss found me. Its now a truck to see and soon hear. Pretty cool. Look forward to meeting all of you and meeting us.
