Default V2203 DI piston Shaving???

I am doing a light rebuild on a V2203 DI.
Back story
motor had 1900 hours and looks to have gotten a little warm. Did a comp test and found #1@500 #2@220 #3@490 #4@500

Pulled the head and found a bad piston in #2 with a little aluminum on the wall. Pulled and stone honed and everything cleaned up nicely. The top and bowl of the piston are fine so I do not think it is fuel related. I had hoped it was a head gasket.

I have found a set of used low hour pistons in great shape from a good running take apart.
I am thinking of throwing the pistons in the lathe and taking some meat off the top to lower the comp. from 20.5:1 to something lower? not exactly sure how to calculate Compression but found a compression calc and looks like if i take .050/1.27mm off the top of the piston i should drop to about 18.5 ( i think)

I will first do this with the set of old pistons and document how much "Meat" there is by destroying the piston.

A common way of lowering your C/R is by doubling up on head gaskets. Shaving anything off the piston will leave you with a very unbalanced piston and most likely not enough room between the combustion and the first compression ring. The other benefit from doubling up on the head gaskets is it gives you a very nice safety barrier
