So I've have a problem with fifth gear grinding and I decided to change the fluid, when I stuck my finger inside the drain plug I found pieces of metal three pieces of metal almost looks like part that pushes the gears into gear. Any help would be amazing thank you. 1999.5 F250 SD 7.3 zf6 manual. Not what I wanted to see.
What are these pieces? I have an idea.

I agree here's an actual picture of fifth gear fork, should I keep driving the truck I can get it into fifth gear I just want to make sure nothing else is going to happen any help from anybody will be great

 

thats your call, i would fix it ASAP. dont know if there is another piece in there that could get stuck in the rest of the gears.
