Default How to check Injection pump timing?

i was wondering if anyone knew a way to check the injection pump timing without pulling timing cover? my pickup does not seem to have the power it should. i found receipts where the injection pump was replaced at 100K miles so i am wondering if it was timed right when installed?
any help would be greatly appreciated

Vp44 is electronically timed. How long have you had the truck? Did it seem to lose power over time or has it alwas seemed underpowered? Do you have any gauges? Auto or manual? Could be a boost leak.

The only way I know how to look at timing is with the quad.
