Default timing my 12v

new here , my pump guy moved my tab to 17 degrees. so when I install straight pin timed I'm supposed to be at 17. how can I check to make sure I'm at 17 ? free wheeling revs over 4k easily. under load will not go over 2100. I think its retarted .

You can check timing by using the same procedure you would to adjust timing. You can read the timing procedure here.

To convert from mm of lift to degrees in timing use this.

The revving issue could be due to your pump de-fueling or your truck not having enough power to rev higher when under load.

Hope that helps
