hard start to no start
98 Dodge Ram 12v Diesel
I have very little knowledge about my truck but hopefully someone can point me in right direction.
Last year I had 2 rubber fuel lines that needed replaced. My friend "the mechanic" replaced both lines. I dont recall if it was before or just after the lines were replaced that I had trouble starting the truck. I would have to turn it over and over until it would finally start. Every few weeks it would go a week or so and fire right up. It was like that all winter long and then about 2 weeks ago it was starting right up for 14-20 days strait until one day it decided not to start at all no matter how many times I tried to crank it over. My guess is that it had an air leak or something. I replaced the fuel filter and still no luck. Then replaced the lift pump and still no luck. Before I sell it thinking it might be an expensive fix I thought I would ask for a little help. I have already been through 2 transmissions and have replaced quite a bit the last fuel years. I use the truck to plow and my wife hates it but I kinda love it! Any ideas what it could be or what I might try? Thanks and I'll add as much info as needed if asked. Thanks.
