Default 2005 Ram HO Cummins?

Hey guys just had a quick question!

I have a 2005 Ram 2500 with the 5.9L, I was wondering what I can look at to figure out if I have the High Output model of the 5.9L!

Thanks guys!

it will have a number of things on it. it will have the ESN on and you can call cummins and ask them. it will also say the HP, which yours will say 325 HP at 2900 RPM's, not positive on the RPM's. so you have the HO

if its an 05 then its the HO version, 03-04 were the SO version with 305hp and 555tq,

the 05 is the 325hp 610tq engine

I appreciate it BriteWhiteRam! This is Definitely My Highest Powered Vehicle Ever!

Can't wait to start Adding more Mods! I think next will be some Tranny Upgrades to Keep up with the motor! Any Suggestions? Nothing huge just some beefier parts so it doesn't crap the bed on me if I give it some gas to get around someone you know?

You can start off with a valve-body for the trans, adjust your trans bands. How many miles on your rig now? If youre over 150k, your trans is pretty much on borrowed time, and should start crapping out. At that point, start off with a rebuilt trans, then worry about the engine mods afterwards. Its no fun to mod the engine first, only to have your trans crap out right after. Your engines new found power will send your trans over the edge.

Yea I killed the trans in my 05 when it was stock, I drove it fairly hard, but the 2nd gear band gave out and I could hardly get it to shift into 3rd

then I put an old school edge juice/attitude on it put it on the highest setting and snapped the input shaft in two like it was nothing, probably the 4x4 launches....

still I'd recommend a rebuild before you throw power at it, and DEFINATELY an input shaft, I know they're pricey but you'll keep the trans in one piece too

Enjoy the truck, I know I miss mine some days
