Default NEW 2006 Cummins 5.9

Hey guys I just purchased a 06 5.9 with 220,00 kms for $19500 is that too much? Also I just had a few questions about it. I wanna know common problems on it and what to watch for with these trucks. I had a chevy 6.5L and now I have upgraded and man does the thing have some ***** holy s***. It has some upgrades but I still wanna learn more about it. I am only getting 500km a tank so if theres a way to get better MPG tell me all about it.

Upgrades:

-8" BDS Long Arm Lift
-37" Amp All Terrains
-BDS steering
-AFE deep tranny pan
-Rebuilt tranny with triple billet torque converter
-Edge Evo Ht
-Gauges (Trans, Egt, Boost)
-Arp Studs (not rebuilt motor apparently)
-4" Dual Straight Pipe
-AFE Intake

You may have to play with the Evo a little bit. Plus you may want to install 50 hp nozzles on the injectors.

Seems like a good deal! 37s aren't gonna help with mileage obviously- How hazy is it when you drive? Keep rpms below 2k and hwy 55-60mph for best mpg! Switch to EFI live and ditch the other tuner!

Haha best thing for milage is take off the lift and tires and run 33's . Price isn't terrible considering there's been plenty of money put into the truck. I ended up paying 11 grand for my 2003 with 137,000 miles that's slick and well maintained. With my smarty ssr and my daily driver tune I get about 24mph (it's 2wd BTW :-(.... But the adjustment with a good tuner is absolutely amazing! Highly recommend the smarty ssr you can customize tunes as you do more upgrades.

EFI Live is available for the 2006+

Bigger tires will make MPG seem lower unless your speedometer is re-calibrated, and be lower for more rotating mass and poor mpg tread. I bet its a good looking truck.

Thats why I bought the edge evo ht it recalibrate my speedometer so now I actually know my speed. I also put in a Parkor Racor fuel/water separator and put new baldwin filters in and the mopar oil filter. Im getting 100 km more out of a tank with it so not to bad. I was wondering about re-gearing to 4.10s? good idea or no? I drive in city a lot but on weekends I travel.

going to 33" or 35" and the truck will drive better and have less steering problems. Switching to 4.10 or 4.56 would make it respond better.
