Default GET OUT OF HERE SMOKE!!!

I just installed my edge insight and smarty PoD to my truck and instantly love the combo! The edge lets me adjust the smarty POd levels through it and still hve my gauges! It's bad ***. I got them bc my truck has been blowing black smoke pretty good unless I'm cruising. Going through the gears I look like a damn 17 year old who rigged the truck to do it on purpose and I'm not happy about it. I replaced the MAP sensor and it has helped. I even put the CaTCHER on half power on the smarty tune and it still slightly smokes. Could this be because injectors or something else? I have heard getting a bigger turbo will clear it up and even out the injectors if that is the case but I want other opinions before droppin 1500 dollars. Also any ideas on tune combos with the smarty? Thanks for the help!

Default Truck

My truck is a 03 SLT 4x4, 6speed, 4" TBE, S&B cold air, edge cuts insight, Smart PoD s-06. I have been told it has bigger injectors but I do not know for sure bc it came with no paperwork.

Have any boost leaks? Pressurize the system to be sure!

It has to be pressurized build a cap with fitting for the turbo inlet and bring it up to 20 30 PSI You will find any leaks for sure! If there are crazy big injectors in it that would also do it!

We can test the injectors here and give you an approximate HP rating. It would have to run on our test bench here in UT.

Bigger turbo will not help with smoke at lower RPM, but will for higher rpm.

Definitely do not want to chase your tail on this issue. If you go on youtube you can find some videos on boost leak tests. Do that just for a piece of mind, also make sure we have a fresh fuel filter/ air filter etc. If everything checks out get the injectors checked out atleast to have a decent idea of what you have in the truck.
