I bought a 2015 Cummins and want to put the black appears group head lights in it. The dealer said they might not work and throw codes does any on know if that is true they are saying it cause they don't match the vin on the truck

 

I had the same problem with tow mirrors they told me the same thing as they couldn't look them up b/c of the difference in the vin. Best thing you can do is maybe find someone who has a black edition and swap one out before buying a set possibly. I have a black edition 2014

 

You could always go to a paint shop if there are any in your area mixing black paint into clear coat giving the same look. It really looks identical and you won't have to change out your lights.

 

I am assuming you are talking about the factory projector headlights? If so then if your truck has the chrome ones it should be a straight swap to the black ones. If your truck does not have the factory projectors, you can still put them in but you will need a wiring harness: '13 Projector Adapter
