I have a 95 psd that is a daily driver that started dying on me at random times. I could be driving down the road and it would die, but then it start & run again and not do it again sometimes for several days. It has now stopped starting, turns over but won't start. Changed the lift pump last summer & fuel filter is in good shape, does anyone have an idea what it could be?

 

Try your cam postion sensor. Located on the front of the block next to the crank pully

Blakec I changed the CPS sensor & that worked for a week and now it won't start again, does anyone have any ideas of what else could be causing that?

 

Does it smoke while cranking?

 

No it doesn't smoke while turning over.

 

Sound like your not getting fuel to the clyinders. Check your fuel pressure and hpop pressure. If you where getting fuel to the clyinders you would be getting a little smoke at least.
