ive been looking for a few days now and I cant seem to get a straight answer to my question. I have an 01 24v and im suspect that the previous owner may have put a super chips tune on it and, id like to remove it. now can I use a smarty s03, upload a tune then return to stock and will it remove the SC tune if there is one? im going to be barrowing a smarty for a few days to get the 3cyl/high idle in my truck but id like to know if the smarty will rid me of any super chip garbage tuning.

 

Is this a dumb question or does nobody know for sure?

 

I would contact whoever makes super chips, tell them you bought
truck with tune on it, but no tuner. How can you take tune out.
I don't thin smarty will do it.

 

If it has a program already you will have to take it to the dealer first to have it reflashed with the stock program then use your programmer. If it does work the stock tune it will save to return to stock will be the superchips program.

 

The reflash should only be right over 100 as most dealers are between 100-120/hr which is all you should pay. They can do it in under an hour but charge it.

 

the smarty is capable of reflashing the ecm yes.

if it doesn't allow you to do the tune, then you may need an ECM recovery tune to do it which you would need to get from bob wagner.
