Hi guys,

My dad has a 85 F-350 with a 6.9 idi in it. He is looking for a little more power, and I have a DT-360A from a 1988 International. I know it will fit, dimension-wise anyway. I was wondering if anyone knows if the DT-360 and the 6.9 bellhousings will interchange? Dad's truck has a 4 speed with a Gear Vendors overdrive unit, and he likes it that way! . If I can swap it in without a trans swap, that would be the best.

Anyone know about this?

I would go with a 7.3 IDI turbo if i was you .. its a easy swap ... and parts are somewhat easy to find as well ..

 

IDI turbo does not put out that much more hp than the stock 6.9. The DT-360 will out power it any day.

Also, I HAVE the DT-360...I do NOT have an idi 7.3 lying around....

 

Ahh ... I have one ... its about to be loaded in my truck and take to scrap yard .. then the truck to follow .. LOL
