Default Chevrolet Tahoe 6,5 TD 1996

Hello. I am Peter from Slovakia. I bought a Tahoe with 6,5 Diesel and i have a problem. Sometimes when i drive the engine shut off. I change the PMD/FSD and i relocated to the front bumper - it is a Stanadyne, grey colour. And i changed the fuel shut-off solenoid. And the engine sometimes shut off, but i can start the engine immediately.

Please, help me.

Thanks

Have you used a scanner to read the computer codes? If no codes are read, then check the connections to the PMD/FSD, and check all grounds. There is one on the rear of the passenger side cylinder head.

Quite likely the problem is the ignition switch.

Pay attention next time it stalls and note if the instrument cluster dies at the same time as the stall, but the radio and blower motor continue to run as normal-if so the ignition switch is the culprit?

Pretty common issue.

Could also be an air in fuel issue

if it was air it would take forever to re start. my guess is an injection pump if you have already replaced the PMD. 6.5's are such a pain the ds pumps nearly bankrubt GM back in the day. notorious for intermittant problems.
