My 97, 7.3 was running great, I drove it roughly 180 miles on my way home from work, all off sudden started running rough and the check engine light came on, pulled to the side of the road and it died, I changed the fuel filter and checked all fluids, bleed the air out and she fired right up, made it another 60 miles and did it again, this time I have to wait for it to prime up and it will start and run about a minute, need help before she gets impounded please!!!

 

Use a tire gauge to check the fuel pressure. There is a schreader valve on the side of the fuel bowl. Should have at least 45 psi when running

 

Wait for it to prime....? The obs 7.3s have a mechanical fuel pump
