I've got a 85 f250 6.9 diesel 4 speed 4x4 ext cab long box the motor has 109,000miles on it. I just put a new rebuild tranny in it about a 1000 miles ago. If has a new starter, alternator, heater core, a/c compressor, new batteries all within the last 2000miles. Also had a new injector pump put in it maybe 5000miles ago. The only downfall is it needs a rear axle. The gears are all good but the passenger side axle housing threads are messed up. I'm wondering what this truck is worth I need the money badly mot pay for repairs on my new truck! Any ideas?

 

You can usually find the rear axles pretty cheap, seen them anywhere from $150-$800 out here. You will probably lose a grand maybe more having to sell it as is. If you were nearby, my friend will be parting an 86 F-250 with a sterling full floater and 3:55's real soon.

 

Ok. Yea I really don't wanna get rid of it because of the miles it has and what I've put into it but I need the money so that's the route im planning on taking

 

Should be able to check out E-bay and get a diff cheep or a recking yard near ya shoudl have something to slap in ... remember to use new U-bolts and torque them correctly ... I have seem what can happen when its not done right ...
