Default acceleration

So my truck just started to do a new thing, this is my 3rd 6.5 so i am not new to the issues of the pmd, I just want to verify that this is one or could it be something else:

sometimes when i barely touch the accelerator the truck goes into full blown "LETS GO" mode. so far it has not accelerated on its own like i have had others do in the past. also sometimes when I am in excess of 65 mph usually around 70 and I let off the pedal the truck doesnt want to slow down and i have to pump it a few times for it to release.

so is this yet another symptom of the pmd? I havent relocated this one yet as it just reached 50,000, could it be something else?

PMD relocation needs to be done when the PMD is new-if it's been on the IP you might as well leave it there till it fails.

Check for trouble codes to see if the throttle or APP is acting up.
Service throttle soon light on?
It could be the PMD or an IP problem-PMD is most economical test item and it's good practice to have a spare PMD mounted on a heatsink and a 6" extension harness for emergency use anyway.

Same part and warranty @ amazon is about $130.

Lots have used them but they haven't been out that long to know results?
Think they are just another re-badged flight systems?

well i bought the one from amazon and installed it in the nostril of the bumper.... it lasted a whole 15 min then stalled twice then wouldnt start at all when i was at the store. lucily i had an extra from another truck to get me home. waiting now to hear from dorman about a replacement, but its easter.. on a side note i bought a 2.5 crossover and a pyrometer. I was wondering if i could install the probe in the crossover instead of tapping the manifold

Dis you mount the PMD on an aluminum heatsink with heat transferpaste/pad bewteen them and torque the screws to 20-25 inch pounds?

The PMD will fail very quickly if not properly mounted.

The EGT prob is much better off in the manifold, keep the engine running while drilling and tapping and the chips will blow out towards you and not harm anything.

If you remove the RF wheel it's a pretty easy area to access.
Or put it where it's shown in Kennedy Diesel's tech tips.

i did mount it to a aluminum heatsink with heat pad. i tightened the screws down snug. it started stalling before it even left the driveway so i dont think vibration was the culprit
