I recently bought a 5 ton military truck with an 8.3 Cummins. I'm wanting to do a few things to it like open up the intake and exhaust and turn up the injection pump. I've never really modded a diesel so I'm a little nervous. I've heard all the horror stories and I want to stay on the safe side. I'm not looking to make a huge amount of power, just pep it up a little bit. What are the major vitals that need to be monitored to keep everything in check? I'm thinking EGT and boost. Anything else? Also if there is anyone who has played with an 8.3, any advise is welcome. Thanks
