Default E4OD to t19??

My E4OD is starting to slip. I dont wanna pay for a zf5 speed, I dont have enough money. So I'd like to go to the t19. I know it'll probably get worse fuel mileage and everything but that doesnt bother me too much. So can anybody tell me (in detail) what I'm gonna need to pull this off? And roughly how much it'll cost if youve done it yourself?

Usually with the e4od if you think it's slipping 90% of the time it's electrical. Crawl under the passenger side, there will be a heat shield held onto the side of the transmission with 2 bolts, there is a plug behind it, willing to bet there is either bare wire showing, or the plug needs to be cleaned off. If there is wire showing they sell a replacement plug for that for this exact reason. Just me $0.02

Don't remember if your truck has it or not, but it should have Fuel Injection Pump Lever (FIPL) . From factory it is recommended they are replaced every 50,000 miles.

If that fixed the problem, I would save up for a zf6 I'm looking to do that when my zf5 goes, if it ever does. I power shift it, run it half full, and still nothing.

Do you do a lot of towing? If you do, than just about the only reason to go 6bt over a 4bt, the 4 gives you better mileage aswell

Yeah quite a bit. Not an insane amount but quite a bit. Plus for some reason 6bts are cheaper than 4bts where i'm at. dont know if thats normal or not
