Hey guys my brother has a 05 duramax which has blown a head gasket. First off I am goin to be fixing it myself and was wondering if anyone has done this themselves and would greatly appreciate any advice/tips/tricks for an easier fix. Everyone we talked to has said u need to remove the cab to replace them? Is that true ....if so can u loosen the rear bolts and take the front bolts out all the way and jack it up enough to get to everything....we will also be putting head studs in while we got it apart along with sending the heads off to be checked for warping .....any ideas on cost of parts ?? ...also how many beers will be needed to get through this headache ..... Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
