Default regular cab to quad cab conversion

Hello everyone, this is my first post!
I have a 1994 Dodge 2500 4x4 cummins with a nv4500. Frame is great condition and I also have a 1999 quad cab 4x4 1500. Good frame and cab. I need an extra cab and so I am going to swap the cab onto my 2500 frame. Has anyone done this on this forum? I know the rear axle has to slide back 4 inches and the fuel tank will interfere with the cab floor. In Maine we have state vehicle inspections and it will fail if I use a body lift...So I was thinking either lower the fuel tank or cut the floor of the quad cab and create a bump in the floor to clear the tank. Any thoughts?
