Default 2002 Duramax Front End Problem

We just got a 02 Duramax and while i was driving i felt a little vibration. I slowed down and than it felt like something dropped in the front end. I pulled over and looked and I didnt see anything that dropped. Does anyone have any ideas or have had any problems with your Front end?

i rebuild my front end usually once a year, about 25,000 miles. sometimes the tires will flat spot and that will cause a vibration. jack up each side, one at a time, and try to wiggle the tire 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock. this will show if there is wear in the inner or outer tie rod, pitman arm, or idler arm. then try to wiggle it 12 to 6. you can put a bar under it to make it easier. this will show if theres play in the upper ball joint or upper a-arm bushings. if theres slack but not in these areas it could be the wheel bearing.

That 12 to 6 can change quickly, it should be checked often.

HOLY CHIT .... once a year ????? Good FK !!!!! I havent rebuilt my ford but once in 5 years and its a twin beam 4x4 .... something is wrong if you need to rebuild a front end every 25K .. 20 years of automotive tells me ... either you beat the CHIT out of your truck or using cheep china parts ....

Honestly if your gonna do it ... do it with good quality parts ...

moog parts. needs rebuilt now as a matter of fact and it's only been 8 months. as for beating the fire out of it, i am hard on stuff, but with roads like these around here i don't have to try to hard. The ranch hand hanging on the front doesn't help either, but i'm only running 235/85/16's on it so the tires aren't that hard to turn.i put xrf tie rod ends in my 97 dodge to see how they last. should know in a few months. i'm the same guy who goes through tires quickly. my hankook m/ts have almost 6,000 miles on them and are 1/16 over half tread.
