Default Kubota V2203 Block Water Drain?

On my Kubota V2203 DI above the Oil filter is a long bolt of which the only thing I can find on this is that it is a Block Water Drain? What has everyone done with there drain?

Sorry Gang learning as I go here.

I was wondering the same thing. I am hoping to pull that hollow capped tube out and plug it with a NPT pipe plug

I did not even know that Block Water Drain was there till last night I removed the factory Oil Filter and then noticed this long bolt looking thing sticking out and said hmmmmmmm and I noticed it was wet. So I thought ok how in the world is it wet . So I did some searching here and came to only one conclusion and that was it is a Block Water Drain. Then searched some more and from the factory they make a drain valve to go in there but mine is just a bolt in the end?

So like you I may remove it and just put in a brass plug or it could be another location for a temp sender. I do not know as of yet.

That is why I thought I would ask what in others have done?

I have no idea it just seemed like a good idea. But I am not near the Engine at this time to check the size of the thread in the block for the Temp Sender.

I will be back out in the shop in about 45 minutes. I have only pulled the cork end out. and I got some coolant, so I corked it back up. I have not pulled the block end out yet either. The oil pressure ports are 1/8 pipe

I went through and checked a parts listing for a Carrier engine quick (just guessing that's what's being discussed). From the description, it looks like it's a block drain. If it's a Carrier spec engine, the block drain is extended like that to get the drain out past the oil pan the Carrier's use.

Also, the pipe plugs in the engine are a Japanese style, but we've found that BSP thread (British Pipe) fits them well and doesn't strip out the port in the block or ruin the fitting. NPT fittings will go in, but most of the time the block will trash the fitting threads due to the different thread pitch.

The plugs should be available at bigger hardware stores. I know we get most of ours through places like Grainger or McMaster... I don't know about the turbo. Is it off a different Kubota?
