Default 1997 powerstroke cali model help!!!!!!!!

ok i bought a 1997 powerstroke cheap!!!! $500 guy was told the engine was toast by a shop because of excessive blowby which was do to a glow plug that blew the guts out of it fixed that and found some other issues

so here is what i know and what i have it is a cali model with code ab injectors two of which are not deflecting oil out of the spouts so i bought a set of used code aa injectors not knowing i had code ab injectors is there any reason i cant mix and match? im assuming thats not possible but is there any reason my truck wont run on the single shots when i have split shots?

any help would be greatly appreciated im stuck!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can not mix them, ABs are split shots and AAs are single shots. you should be able to run the AAs but it would require someone to tune a chip to run them.

Don't think its as easy as just swapping a PCM.

Why a tuner over a chip? A chip is the best thing to run on a 7.3

just personal opinion honestly i find chips to be invasive upon the wiring of the pickup i would rather plug in tune and unplug

i did already change to the 2 bad splits out for the two singles and the truck still shook and smoked with no romp and no idle surge just bad vibration i uninstalled my tuner and the vibration was cut in half maybe if i swap all the singles in will any tuner rewrite the computer for singles?

Do yourself a favor and get rid of the superchip and it will run a lot better
