1993 no voltage to TPS Sensor HELP
I have a 1993 3500 Chevy with 6.5 td
I did injection pump and new tps when I replaced it I just set it like the other one was because I didn't have the tool. That was about 5 months ago. When I went to go set it today I couldn't get voltage at all to the pigtail! just a short shot of it when I would turn the key on. My dad did me the favor (sarcasm) of moving the sensor so now the truck only shifts at 2500 rpms and it will not go into over drive when you put ur foot in it. If I drive it regularly it shifts really hard. I parked it till I can find out what is up. any idea why I cant get a voltage reading? im thinking bad ground but I really don't know this older system....
All help is very much appreciated!
I really need this truck running tomorrow I just rained so hard in Arlington Tx

If you are using a voltmeter, where are you grounding it? On the ground wire for the TPS? If so, try grounding it to the engine somewhere.
Are you sure that you are checking the correct wire for voltage "to" the TPS?
IIRC, when I had to set my TPS, seems like the idle position should have been around 0.42 volts on the signal wire. The signal voltage raised with the throttle to around 5 volts.
Hopefully this helps.
