Where to set timing

Default Where to set timing

Where should i be having my timing set at. I have buddy replacing the cam and tappets and was wondering where it should be, Mod list is as follows

SDX 5x.016 injectors
no fuel plate
4k governor spring kit
pdr intercooler
66/74/14 custom turbo by engineered diesel
60lb vavle springs
o-ringed head with head studs

I want to make sure to keep my egts low. I dont tow that much just dd it.

low to mid 20's

how cold does it get where you live? more timing=harder to start especially when it is nice and cold out.

I heard to set it at 21 or22

I will have to look I think it is the 854. I got it off of a 96 truck,I'm going to do a p pump swap on my first gen!
