Hello everyone! I just bought a 2.5 5 cylinder TDI for 400$. Guy says the engine is brand new and by the looks of it, it is. He claims that its a 2011 but im pretty sure they stopped using injection pump systems in the 2000's. This has a VP36 or 37 I believe and it is indeed electrical . Anyways I wanted to get some input and some guidance to this motor!

Some questions I have:
What will I need to get the injection pump and motor running?
^The engine does not have a flywheel, starter, or alternator.^

I know there are mechanical pumps out there but I have only seen one in a build, can anybody tell me if it is worth it to switch to mechanical? I really don't want to mess with this electronic crap. (I already have a 24v VP44 cummins)

And well I lost my train of thought, so Im sure ill have more questions as I go along in my journey with this thing.

Im still looking for a trans to bolt up with and a lift pump and other goodies for the motor.
