Default Upgrading push rods and valve springs on a budget!

I figured I would pass this info along here like I did on cumminsforum. info is also available on compD.

If you are looking to build big power or turn 4k rpm but just can't seem to fit $400 springs and $300+ push rods into your budget...

You can get Crower "neon" valve springs.
They are ~110# valve springs (actual seat pressure is about 115# installed at cummins install height)

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cro-68190-24

they run just over $100 shipped...saves you a good $180-200 on springs...

Yes they fit, and yes they work! I personally run them in my truck, and plenty of other cummins 24v guys have been running them for years in their trucks.

and for pushrods contact Manton Racing on the phone..

here is their site: Pushrods-Manton Pushrods-High Performance Pushrods

have them built you a set of push rods at the following specs: 3/8" .095" wall thickness part number 304. you want 11.450" over all length. 10mm cup, 10mm ***** for end style.

excellent products and both are working perfectly in my truck...

Just some info for y'all in case you want to save some money on supporting mods for a high rpm or high hp motor...

if you want to turn over 4500rpm I would suggest getting the chromoly or titanium retainers and keepers..otherwise for operation under 4500rpm the stockers are fine.
