degrading from 8in suspension lift
Hello guys this is my first thread here so am new to this so bear with me! I just bought a 2002 2500hd duramax and it sits on a cognito 8in lift, I have no clue about lifts so my question how much work is it to drop down to 6in or 4in? It has 38s for tire size thanks!
I went to Cognito's site and they show a 4 and 7 inch lift, no 8 that I seen. With that said, the IFS lifts are a breed of their own as they have to keep cv axles at the proper angles. So many times the hard ware is different for the different size lifts. I do not think you will be able to piece together a drop for this. This is from their website.
I think you will have to buy a new kit if you want to drop otherwise your CV driveshaft angles will be off.
Full 7 Inch front differential drop for optimal CV axle angles at 7 Inch lift height
Optimal tie rod angles at 7" lift kit height
Optimal tie rod angles at 7" lift kit height
Ok so say if the only way was to get a new kit is the suspension of my truck worth anything? Is the drive shaft modified? I just think this big of lift isnt right for this truck dont get me wrong I love it but it feels like it does more damage than good.
